ENGIE Energy Access, Africa’s leading Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) and mini-grid solutions provider, has officially commenced the construction of 15 solar mini-grids in Zambia's Eastern Province. This follows the signing last year of a USD 7.5 million debt transaction with the Facility of Energy Inclusion, a fund managed by Cygnum Capital. This project supports Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7): Affordable and Clean Energy, by providing clean and reliable electricity to over 40,000 people.
This achievement marks a significant step forward in promoting off-grid energy solutions and fostering economic growth in Zambia, making a tangible impact on local communities by providing reliable electricity to underserved families and small businesses.
